DC Universe Online was a game released when Facebook was still a popular new thing, but some aspects of it, such as the high level of customization, have reached or exceeded the levels of some popular games.
However, we cannot deny the fact that the gaming population is decreasing. There have been no major updates other than adding a few new locations here and there and countless new cosmetic items.
Still, the world of DC Universe Online is packed with content, and it’s difficult to jump in and know what you’re doing. In today’s guide, we’ll share our experiences with DC Universe Online.
In this game you can meet all your favorite Super Heroes and Super-Villains if you are willing to give it a try.
Our favorite part is that, as long as you have enough DCUO Cash, it gives you the freedom to get creative and build your own Superpowered Hero while witnessing Atrocities others create.
1.Character Creation
Let’s share our experience, starting with character creation. The best part about it compared to other MMORPGs is that it presents a wide variety of superpowers and starting gear. It lets you create unique outfits from the start using color sliders.
Therefore, if you want to experience a high level of customization in your game, it is definitely a wise choice to buy DCUO Cash in advance.
The downside is that while there are many skins to choose from, some have issues and the faces all look the same. So expect Clones in DCUO to be under attack.
I recommend purchasing the level boost as soon as you complete the tutorial. Because while the cities are well-made and true to their comic book appearance, the base game only lets you run around Gotham City and Metropolis, which can make you feel trapped.
And we don’t feel like DLC has added new areas in the world. A lot of it feels like it’s been copied from the two major cities with only minimal tweaks, and the missions are very boring and repetitive.
Once you hit the level 30 cap, you can move on to group content like Alerts and Raids to get gear and DCUO Cash for sale or buy tokens for gear, increasing your power to ridiculously high numbers.
2.Repair Gear
One thing that’s inevitable in DCUO is that your gear will break. This can cause some serious problems when you try to do almost anything that requires combat.
Because damaged gear will cause you to be knocked down by taking less damage. This is completely unfeasible when you’re in a group instance, greatly reducing the effectiveness of your group’s raids.
Therefore, it is crucial to get into the habit of quickly heading to Headquarters and finding a vendor to repair your gear. The required DC Universe Online Cash fees are expensive for you when you are lower level, but trust me, it is worth it.
3.Choose The Right Power: Agility Or Flight
Are you confused about choosing a hero with super agility or flight? This is indeed a hard choice.
On one hand, it’s nice to launch from the ground and take to the sky to get to your next location quickly. But on the other hand, some acrobatic movements and running speed provided by extreme agility will greatly remind the character of the threat!
Fortunately, you can try both powers by selecting agility.
When you level up your agility to level 9, you can unlock Rocket-assisted Glide, which essentially propels you upward without requiring you to land.
This means you’ll be able to fly anyway, but you’ll also have agility. While Rocket-assisted Glide isn’t as fast as flight power, it still gives you the best of both worlds.
4.Roles
In order to have a successful team, you need to pay attention to your role as a team member. While the matchmaking system does a good job of selecting players with different roles to build a well-rounded team, if one of these roles fails to do its job, it can have serious implications for the team’s success. There are four different roles to choose from:
- Tank: Mainly used to take damage on the front line so teammates can focus on playing to their strengths.
- Healer: Every time the team’s health starts to drop, Healer will heal. This role requires you to pay attention to what’s happening on the battlefield, because if you miss a heal, teammates will die.
- Controller: Controllers use their powers to weaken enemy statistics and provide energy regeneration for the team, changing the course of combat.
- Damage: This is a universal role that any power can take on. It usually focuses on dealing damage to enemies and completing objectives.
5.Reassign Skill Points
First-time players of any MMO usually have no idea what they are investing their Skill Points into. As you get to higher levels, you’ll find that you waste a lot of Skill Points early on.
Fortunately, in DCUO, if you encounter this problem, you can not only reassign your Skill Points in Re-spec Station but also your Power.
The beauty of this feature is that you can change the set of weapons you use all together. As you progress in the game, you’ll get to know Re-spec Station.
6.Cosmetic Customization
The final and favorite aspect of this game is, of course, the unique cosmetic customization in the game.
When creating your Heroes or Villains, many people will spend a long time trying to create clothing choices. But during the game you will acquire new equipment, which will change your character’s outfit.
If you’re torn between equipping a new piece of gear packed with outstanding stats, but are afraid that your character will look completely unrelated to DC Comics, go to the style tab in the menu.
Here, you’ll be able to choose to lock your gear’s original appearance while retaining the stats of your new gear item. It also saves the appearance of each piece you collect so you can mix and match old and new styles to create a unique hero.
All in all, DCUO is a game that requires some trial and error to figure out which one best suits your style, but trust me, it’s totally worth the work. Hopefully, these DC Universe Online tips will help you make your mark on the universe.
