The holiday season is upon us, which means many of you are going to be throwing a party of some sort or another. However, instead of throwing yet another cookie-cutter holiday-themed party, this year you should consider cranking things up by adding some games and other fun stuff that can make the party stand out.
And yes, there are even some fun Thanksgiving activities other than eating and watching football. So, if you’re planning on having a holiday get-together, take a few minutes to check out some of these games that could be the life of the party.
Christmas
We’re starting with this one because it’s arguably the most popular holiday for parties because it’s a great time for families to get together for food, family, presents, and everyone wearing their favorite ugly Christmas sweaters. However, this year, how about a snowball fight? Even if there isn’t any snow, a bunch of rolled-up white socks can be the perfect alternative. Enhance your outdoor space with strategic shelters, shields, and hiding spots; split everyone into teams; and go for it. You may even want to have some sort of prize for the winner.
Halloween
Okay, there are a lot of people who absolutely love Halloween, and they start planning a party as early as August. Heck, even retailers put their merchandise out no later than the first of September. It’s an extremely popular holiday for both kids and adults alike, and a party is the perfect way to celebrate it.
Aside from the traditional and almost always popular costume party, consider having an escape room party for something new and unique. There are even online options such as Escape the Tomb and Bitcoin Break-in.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a great time to gather with family and friends, but you’d think that everyone would get sick of just eating turkey all day. Where’s the fun in that? To give your party extra spice, try out some Thanksgiving-themed games like Turkey Bowling. It’s a fun twist on bowling, where you use frozen turkeys as the pins and footballs or basketballs as the “bowling ball.” If that sounds too crazy for your taste, try out a more traditional game like Charades. Just make sure to pick words related to Thanksgiving such as “turkey”, “carving the turkey”, etc.
New Year’s Eve Parties
The new year is all about new beginnings, so why not start off the year with some fun activities? For starters, you could hire a psychic reader to give everyone some insight into what the new year has in store for them. You can also go retro and play an age-appropriate classic game of Spin the Bottle or Truth or Dare. And don’t forget about karaoke! It’s always fun to see who can belt out their favorite song the best.
You may also want to rent a cheap photo booth. These are popular no matter what type of party you’re throwing, but on New Year’s Eve, the pictures could be fun to look at (and make fun of) for years to come.
A party for every holiday
Including some fun activities and games to keep your guests entertained is a great way to add a little flair to your party. With the right plan, everyone can have a good time and make some wonderful memories. So, put on your creative hat and start planning the perfect celebration for whatever special day you’re celebrating! Who knows? If you do it right, you just might be able to turn your party into the talk of the town.
